The Second World Congress of Extensive Reading
The 2nd Extensive Reading World Congress will be held at Yonsei University, Seoul from September 14th & 15th, 2013. The 2012 Language Learner Literature Award winners
Want to find some new and award winning books for extensive reading? The winners of the 9th annual Language Learner Literature Awards were announced in October this year. Five awards were presented in five different categories. The 2012 awards are for books that were published in 2011. To find out more about the awards, click here.

Want to help spread the word? Here are some things teachers are already doing:
- Give a talk on ER at a conference you attend. For some ideas, see Marc Hegelsen’s powerpoint presentations on extensive reading on his website http://helgesenhandouts.weebly.com/extensive-reading.html
- Organize a colloquium for several teachers to share what they do.
- Look out for the 2013 Learner Literature Awards. Encourage other teachers and their students to read the nominated books and get them voting online.
- Think about applying for a grant from the ERF to support setting up extensive reading programs. Click here for more details.
