A message from Marc Helgesen, the new Chair of the ERF:
I’m honored to take over as the Chair of the ERF Executive Committee. I think we’ve made a lot of progress in the first decade under Richard Day’s leadership. This is the Language Learner Literature Award’s tenth anniversary. This year a record number of books were nominated and they are being reviewed by jurors night now. The finalists will be announced at IATEFL in April, then opened up to internet voting and comments. The winners will be announced at the 2nd Extensive Reading World Congress in Seoul, South Korea. Plans are looking very good for the Congress. The call for papers is up now. It will be a great event. And, if you haven’t visited Seoul – September is a great time to do so.
We’re looking forward to increasing the activity of the Extensive Reading Foundation. We are very active, especially in East Asia. We are looking at ways to help teachers in Europe, other parts of Asia, the Middle East and the Americas. We’d really like to hear from teachers – what are you doing with Extensive Reading and how can we support you?
