Taiwan’s first Extensive Reading Seminar was held on March 7 at Feng Chia University in TaiChung. The conference theme was, “ER: The Bridge to Fluency.” Nearly 100 teachers attended, double the number organizers had originally hoped for.
Marc Helgesen, Chair of the Extensive Reading Foundation and Syying Lee of National Taiwan University of Science and Technology were featured speakers. Other speakers included Mark Richard of Oxford University Press, Chris James, Tunghai University professors James Sims, Caroline Luo and Marilyn Manno and Kris Vicca of Feng Chia University.
The event was organized by Michael McCollister of Feng Chia University and editor of “A Community of Readers: Interviews with Extensive Reading Scholars & Practitioners” (2013 Kuan Tang). The ERF supported the conference. Click below for the slide show.
