Great news: Policy to ink new chapter in reading in the UAE

In Abu Dhabi on Tuesday 3rd May the United Arab Emirates announced a ten-year National Policy for Reading backed by a Dh100 million fund to encourage the habit of reading among a range of age groups. This is a fantastic government endorsement of the enormous value of reading, in a part of the world where, as research has shown, reading is not a traditional pastime.
