Grants

The Extensive Reading Foundation plans to award grants to promote extensive reading.  Funds for such grants will come from a variety of sources, including the royalties from the book Extensive Reading Activities for Teaching Reading, edited by Julian Bamford and Richard R. Day, (Cambridge University Press, 2004).  The ERF also anticipates donations from the major publishers of language learner literature.

Applications for funding are solicited from individuals and institutions that need support to set up extensive reading programs.  There is no application form.  Those seeking support should email the ERF with the following information:

  • Name of the institution and individuals involved in the project
  • A complete description of the project
  • Why funding is needed
  • How the funds will be used
  • Other information that will be helpful in explaining the project

Email completed applications to Richard R. Day, Chair, ERF, rday@hawaii.edu. For further information, please contact Professor Day.
